Mothers’ Participation
Please note that the results for more complex relationship tests are not usually as conclusive as standard paternity tests. This can result in cases where a relationship may exist but we are unable to detect it, simple due to the way in which the DNA has been inherited. Therefore, we strongly recommend that the mother participates in the DNA test where possible as her participation will allow for a more conclusive result.
For this reason, your kit will include one swab for one mother which we will process free of charge.
Easy-to-use
Our laboratory only accepts cheek cell (buccal) samples for sibling DNA tests.
We find that swabbing the inside of the cheek using a soft cotton swab is the most painless, quick and easy method of obtaining a good quality DNA sample.
Our DNA testing kits contain everything you require to for a sibling DNA test.
The kit will include:
- Consent form
- 3 sterile swabs
- Prepaid return envelope
- DNA testing information sheet
- Terms and conditions
Fast
This DNA testing service has a 4 working day turnaround.
Once you have placed your order, your sibling DNA testing kit will be dispatched the same day (if ordered before 4pm) by first class post.
Your results will be issued by the 4 working day turnaround time from receipt of your samples at our laboratory. Your results will be sent by email.
Human Tissue Act
Please be aware that in the UK the Human Tissue Act regulates the collection and analysis of any human tissue.
This means that we require the written content of each person participating in the DNA test. For a child (under 16) we require the consent of a person with Parental Responsibility for the child.
We will not proceed with testing DNA samples until consent from all of the participants in the test has been obtained.
